This 2 week Car Tour 3rd to 17th Dec 2005 covered most of Madhya Pradesh's important Nature and Heritage sites ... viz. Mandu Ruins, Ujjain Temples, Sanchi Buddhist Stupas, Vidisha & Udaygiri Sculptures, Pachmarhi Forests, Kanha National Park Tigers, Bhedagat's Marble Rocks on Narmada River, Khajuraho World Heritage Site of Temples & Sculputres and Orchha's Palaces & Ruins.

Khajurahao Temple .... in Madhya Pradesh

I went driving my small car, Tata Indica-V2 Diesel, which seemed to be a best fuel-cost efficient option (in 2005), giving an average of 20 Km/Lt. I did'nt drive more than 250-300 kms in a day, taking an easy paced journey.

Most days, I started early morning around 6:30-7:00AM and reached my next Stop by noon. On reaching my destination, I would check into a hotel/lodge, relax a bit and after lunch, see the town and sights, till late evening. I would drive away in the morning next day, to the next stop.

In places, where there were lots of things to see (like  Khajuraho), I stayed an extra day or two.
