Vidisha, 10kms north of Sanchi, was known as Besnagar in Emporer Ashoka's time and it was a large town in this area

From Sanchi, I drove 10Kms North to Vidisha's Government Museum that houses many sculputres from 2nd Cent BC;  all exacavated from ruins near here. Some are housed inside the building and some in the open gardens outside. Some pictures from taht Museaum are shown on this page.
